Trainee housing - analysis to determine the housing needs of trainees in the city of Leipzig

Trainees are finding it increasingly difficult to find affordable housing in Leipzig's tight housing market. The city of Leipzig would like to respond to this challenge with needs-based offers.

With the help of online surveys of trainees in Leipzig, both their current housing situation and their housing needs are to be empirically recorded and contextualized and evaluated by evaluating available data on the Leipzig housing market. In addition to recording the housing situation of the trainees directly affected, a further aim of the project is to record the effects of the tight housing market on the training companies and to determine their needs, the support services already in place for trainees and their willingness and ability to become more involved in providing accommodation for their trainees.

The analysis is intended to provide the basis for a joint discussion between stakeholders from politics and business on how to deal with trainee housing and the concrete implementation and design of the creation of affordable housing for trainees.

The methods used include online surveys, guided interviews and document analyses.
