Accompanying research and funding controlling for the urban development support programme municipalities in Saxony-Anhalt

Federal and state urban development support programme is one of the most important instruments for sustainable urban development. In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, particular attention is paid to knowledge transfer and monitoring.

The IfS monitors the implementation and achievement of objectives and supports the transfer of knowledge and networking between the programme municipalities. The monitoring is based on the collection and processing of funding and structural data, supplemented by online surveys of the programme municipalities. Case studies in selected municipalities are used to analyse individual topics in greater depth. For knowledge transfer and networking, three thematic workshops are planned each year, documentation on a dedicated website and selective counselling of the municipalities on technical issues. The results of the monitoring and workshops are summarised and published in annual reports.
